This is my 7th Pig stay out of their 8 locations now and I loved this one! Located only 15 minutes from the centre of Bath it is a great escape from the bustling city. I went for a night away with my mum and sister as an early Mother's Day celebration. It was really relaxing and great to have some quality time together! I particularly enjoyed the grounds and the lounges at this Pig; the garden was really beautifully laid out and there were lots of cosy rooms to relax in and have a drink and play some games!
Location 10/10: Located in the small village of Hunstrete in Somerset it is a great spot for exploring Bath and also only 40 minutes away from Bristol. We had lunch in Bath at Coppa Club for sharing plates which was lovely and then explored the city properly the next day and did some shopping! It is perfectly hidden in the countryside whilst being close to explore areas of Somerset.
Room 9/10: As always The Pig beds are my favourite in hotels - they genuinely feel like you are sleeping on a cloud! Our room overlooked the most beautiful view of the rolling hills and was truly idyllic! They also had their usual selection of sweet treats, drinks and snacks to choose from which is always a nice touch if you want to relax in your room.
Dining 9/10: We arrived around 3pm and had drinks and nibbles (always get the pork crackling and it is delicious!) in their main bar lounge which was really relaxing. We then had their 25 mile menu in the evening which I love the concept of truly eating local and the food never disappoints. I don't know how we fit it in but we all had an incredible 3 course meal!
Value for money 8/10: So we had 2 cosy rooms for our stay and it was £260 a night (if you stay over a weekend please bear in mind there is a 2 night minimum!) The only thing I say every time about The Pig is that I think this price should include breakfast as it is £15 for continental and £19 for cooked and this should definitely be included in the price, that's the only thing that lets down the value for money!
THE GETAWAY GUIDE FEELING 9/10: I really loved this Pig Hotel - I come back again and again because they get the balance of laid back chic and luxury spot on! I loved how spacious this hotel felt and the scenery was spectacular. If you are after incredible food and a dreamy nights sleep then you can't go wrong with The Pig hotels!
My favourite though is still The Pig at Combe followed by The Pig on the beach but this one definitely comes in 3rd! I just have The Pig at Bridge Place in Kent to go! Will give a full Pig round up once the last one is ticked off!
